ACO BrickSlot HexDrain is a slot drain channel drainage system for domestic applications. The ACO drain has a discrete and attractive 10mm slot built-in, offset to one side of the channel drain base so you can install BrickSlot HexDrain adjacent to walls, doors and garages. ACO drainage has been designed to be compatible with slab and block paving up to 60mm deep so it’s perfect for garage thresholds, landscaping projects, patios and pathways.
The efficiency of ACO HexDrain BrickSlot is not compromised by the small 10mm slot as the inlet is tapered to stop blockages and maintain waterflow. There’s also a debris guard on the ACO slot drain to prevent sand or cement entering during installation when you’re fitting units together.
Fitting ACO BrickSlot HexDrain is so simple as the channels of slot drain just clip together with no other necessary fixings. Each brick slot drain channel is 1m in length but at the 500mm mark there’s a marking so installers know exactly where to cut. What size is the knockout for vertical connection underneath and what's the best way to connect this to e.g. a 60mm or 80mm land drainage pipe, would you have to use the vertical outlet connector and 110mm bend and then a pipe reducer or just connect straight in?
Answer:
You would use the accessory pack - product code 19287. This would then connect onto 110mm pipework. You could use a short length of 110mm pipe and then something like a Flexseal coupler to reduce to a different pipe size.

Can this be used with larger slabs or only brick paving?
Answer:
Yes you can use with slabs as well.

Can the Brickslot be used as an alternative method if the paving is not the required 150mm below the DPC?
Answer:
Our suggestion on this would be for you to contact your local Building Regulations person, as the 150mm below DPC requirement is an ACO suggested installation detail.
With regards to Building Regulations, you should contact them to see if using our Brickslot Drainage would be sufficient.

Can this slot drain be mixed in with the standard aco drain
Answer:
Providing this is being matched with a Hexdrain, in theory this is possible, however only if there is a step of some sort that is the depth of the upstand on the brickslot. Both the Brickslot and the Hexdrain have the same channel, but the tops of different so on a standard run you wouldn't be able to mix these.

Can the 1m channel be cut to any length or is it restricted to cutting it at limited points along its length?

It comes with a marker for a 500mm cut, but you can cut it anywhere and silicone and end cap to the cut edge.

You will need to cut and mitre the channels together, there is not a pre made part for this.
