Buy this, not Hexdrain

I initially installed plastic Aco Hexdrain channels, but they couldn't cope with the volume of rainwater because their knockouts are too small. So I ripped out the Hexdrain and replaced it with this Aco Raindrain B125, which is much much better. It's approximately the same width as a Hexdrain, but approximately 20mm deeper. It has much larger knockout than the Hexdrain, designed to connect to a vertical 110mm waste pipe. The actual knockout diameter is approximately 90mm, so it overhangs the edge of the waste pipe. 90mm is large enough that I can easily get my hand in there if I need to clean the drain out. There is also an A15 version of these channels. As far as I can tell, the only difference is that the A15 version has a thinner stainless steel grate and the B125 version has a thicker cast iron grate. I got the B125 version because I like the cast iron grate.

Sewage Pump

Unfortunately our new outbuilding was lower than our main drains. This system provided a solution to pump the waste water to the higher level. Appears to be good quality. Just finished the installation and tested ok. Awful lot of digging involved. Slight criticism is that the top flange of the tank is quite close to ground level which complicates paving around the manhole.

Good and thick and strong

Used as a protection fleece around an attenuation tank.
It is reassuringly thick and strong, it's quite hard to even poke a pair of scissors through.
Nothing to complain about.
It might have been better if it came in a few more roll sizes, to suite different project sizes, but I suppose you can't have everything!!!

The road to the stable block goes up a small hill. In heavy rain, the water flows down the hill and carries away the gravel. Install the ACO Raindrain across the top of the hill to capture the water before it builds up speed and carries away the gravel further down slope.

Incredibly low price when compared with similar lesser quality products from other suppliers. Delivery was very efficient with the driver taking a great deal of care off loading the shed parts. The shed parts were designed so that all of it could be taken through a garage and through standard 2' 6" door ways. Following the instructions provided it was a very strong build and we found on assembly everything fitted together very well. Fitting the roof was amazingly simple and the pieces fitted together perfectly with the screws provided. The work was predominantly done by one person (my son) with some minor assistance by me holding pieces together while being screwed etc.
Due to the uneven ground the base was created using 45 x 95 Treated timber, this was then covered by treated OSB Strand Board 18mm and finished using an Ecodec frame. The shed was built towards the front of the deck allowing maintenance access all round. The Ecodec was then filled on the outer edges with pebbles and the area infront of the doors was pebbles with sand and cement to provide a base for the decking that we laid as an entrance. The base was then covered using 150mm wooden Gravel Boards. I would point out that the base was probably a bit of overkill and most could probably just build on one base type. Customer service was very good.

Summerhouse

Poor materials used to construct this summerhouse lots of cracks which we have filled with sealant after overnight rain resulted in a wet area at the bottom right hand side. Took a whole day for 2 of us to construct.
