Lubricants & Cleaning

Lubricants and cleaning products are essential for new and old drainage systems. They help create bonds between pipes, facilitate the assembly of pipe fittings, keep the surfaces of solvent-welded pipes clean, and more.

Pipe lubricants

Pipe lubricants are ideal for installing, fixing or repairing plumbing and drainage pipes. They can be specific to pipes made from a single material or multi-purpose for pipes made from various materials. Pipe lubricant not only helps the assembly of pipe fittings, but also maintains proper alignment and helps prevent leaks at joints.

Solvent cement

Solvent cement is used to create bonds between pipes and their fittings, most commonly used on uPVC pipes. It dissolves the top layer of the pipe and fitting surface, allowing the two surfaces to fuse via the solvent. When the solvent dissolves, it leaves a single uniform piece with no joint.

Solvent cleaner

Before fitting any solvent-weld pipes, always ensure the surfaces are thoroughly cleaned with solvent cleaner. This will remove any surface dirt, debris, oil or grease on the pipe, and also helps to soften the pipe surface, meaning that the solvent cement will work more effectively.
