Choose from 316 grade pipes with a diameter of 40mm, 50mm, 75mm, 82mm all the way up to 250mm depending on the application.
316 grade stainless steel is made from a number of different elements, including chromium, nickel and molybdenum - which is a chemical element to add extra strength and hardening properties. Additionally the molybdenum adds extra corrosion resistance against chlorides and solutions, which makes it useful in areas of salt exposure such as near the coast.
316 grade stainless steel pipes are commonly used in marine based environments, due to its resistance to chlorides, but can also be used in a range of other applications. This can include high pressure environments or high temperature environments for example when dealing with high temperature steam.
The strength of 316 grade stainless steel pipes is another reason they are often used in piping systems – fewer supporting structures are required to install and hold the piping systems up, both internally and externally.
If you’re not sure you need 316 grade stainless steel why not take a look at 304 grade stainless steel pipes? With very similar characteristics to 316 grade stainless steel, 304 grade can be used in areas that are less exposed to salt environments or more mild acids, and is generally lower cost.
