Question:
Can you tell me more about the primer undercoat please, does it have a rust inhibitor etc and what is the recommendation for paint.
Answer:
The primer does have a rust inhibitor in it - however this is only enough to prevent rust occurring whilst in storage/stock.
We would recommend first ensuring that all surfaces are degreased with thinners and are dust free and touch up the factory applied primer with a metal primer. Apply an undercoat (usually two coats) before finishing the product with a top coat that suits the building décor. We recommend that only a suitable, good quality paint finish is to be used to ensure minimal maintenance. Please check with the paint manufacturers recommendations, as some exterior paints may not be suitable for painting over the black water based primer.
