If you're looking for a versatile and reliable silicone sealant, search no further than this Everbuild General Purpose Silicone Sealant in Black. This high-modulus sealant is designed to stick to most smooth and non-porous surfaces and features an anti-fungal compound to prevent mould growth in areas with high humidity. Plus, its rubber seal is both flexible and permanent.
For storage, keep this sealant in a cool, dry place between 5°C and 25°C in temperature. It has a shelf life of 24 months in its original unopened container.
For best results, make sure to reference the recommended joint ratios and use fill and fix expanding form or joint backer rod to reduce joint depth as needed. Additionally, it's important to ensure that the joint design only allows for adhesion to two surfaces as three-sided adhesion can impede flexibility.
When applying, carefully cut the top of the cartridge and apply the nozzle at a 45° angle with an opening slightly larger than the gap you need to seal. Use a standard sealant gun and keep even pressure on the trigger while maintaining a constant angle to the surface. Smooth down the sealant within 10 minutes using a spatula or piece of wood wetted with soap and water solution, and for an even better appearance, place masking tape on both sides of the joint and remove it within 5 minutes of application.
