Questions & Answers

Question:

Do you fill the crate with shingle or just the bottom and outside

Answer:

You would only backfill with shingle but won't fill the crates.

Question:

Do the caps come with the crates?

Answer:

Yes, The crates will come with the caps.

Question:

How deep do you have to put the soakaway

Answer:

Aquacrate400 needs for the maximum depth of the base below ground level to be less than 3m

It also needs a minimum cover of :

850mm if 13t axle loads going over it

650mm if 8t maximum axle loads going over it

450mm if 2t maximum axle loads going over it

Question:

Can these be used in clay soil areas and if so is any extra preparation needed

Answer:

The item can be used in a clay field, however, we would highly recommend having a peculation value test done by a ground worker.

This can determine how heavy the clay is in your ground and the ground worker can advise you how many extra crates you may need.

Question:

Are the crates built or flat pack?

Answer:

They are built.

Question:

We purchased 4 of the AQK20 crates from you (1000mm x 1000mm x 400mm) to span an area 2m x 2m. There are no cut-out indicators - can we make our cut-outs for the inlet pipe on the 400m side walls?

Answer:

Yes you can.

Question:

Can you give me a estimate on what size create I would need long with the material to wrap it in I should order

Answer:

You would need the installer to work this out, they will need to find out how well the soil can drain and the amount of surface water it will take and then you will know how many m3 you need.

Question:

How do I connect a pipe and what size does it need to be?

Answer:

You can use any size pipe, you would drill an inlet to the needed size and push the pipe in. There are no locations marked on the crate, you can do it anywhere on any wall.
