From ACO, this Type 1 Wildlife Refuge Shelter for Small Animals keeps them protected from harsh elements and various kinds of predators. All five ACO Wildlife Refuges have different opening types and sizes to prevent access for predators while giving smaller animals the room to head to safety.
While Type 1 has a completely open 160mm x 100mm nominal entrance and is perfect for hedgehogs and other animals the same size, the slotted entrances of Type 2 and 3 are perfect for lizards, newts and invertebrates. Type 4 is best for insects and Type 5 is appropriate for mice, snakes, lizards, shrews and voles.
ACO Wildlife Refuges benefit from an open base to retain natural ground humidity. There is no metal used for reinforcing this product, meaning that magnetic fields are not distorted to save animals from getting confused. As for the polymer concrete structure, thermal conductivity is low to ensure that the internal temperature is lower in hot conditions.
