With an open base to retain humidity, this Type 2 ACO Wildlife Refuge Shelter for Newts, Lizards and Invertebrates has a 60 x 10mm slotted entrance. It creates a protective shelter that stops predators from accessing the small animals travelling inside.
Made from low thermal conductivity polymer concrete, the internal temperature of restricted-opening ACO Wildlife Refuges is less in hot conditions. Without any metal reinforcement, animals will not grow disoriented at the distortion of magnetic fields.
Type 2, like Type 3, has a slotted entrance for lizards, newts and invertebrates. Type 1, however, has an open 160mm x 100mm nominal entrance for hedgehogs and animals of a similar small size. For insects, Type 4 is ideal and Type 5 is perfect for mice, snakes, lizards, shrews and voles.
