With a 450mm diameter, this Recessed Square-to-Round Manhole Cover from Wrekin can withstand a slow-moving wheel load of up to 2.5 tonnes. Its unobtrusive design removes the need to cut paving slabs around the circular opening. Both the frame and cover are made from galvanised mild steel to BS EN ISO 1461.
This Manhole Cover is FACTA AAA rated, suitable for use in light to medium duty applications and can take pneumatic SMWL loads of 10 tonnes.
With an 80mm nominal depth, the recessed tray weight-loading capabilities are provided under the assumption that the recess will be properly filled with concrete or screed to the correct level.

We have the two categorisations as steel can warp and bend. Unlike ductile iron, which only flexes.
