Description

Available in different lengths and diameters, this perforated roof drain outlet from Wallbarn is made of flexible and strong TPE (Thermoplastic elastomer). It works to add a waterproof element to drainage holes on both balconies and roofs that are already equipped with bituminous waterproofing membranes. With resilience to weathering and UV rays, this outlet can withstand temperature changes up to 120°C and resist brittleness in lower temperatures.

Where holes are made in concrete decks, this outlet is easily installed after a layer of waterproof membrane and then coated with a second layer on top of the flange - which has a perforated edge for the membrane to settle in for a secure and sturdy bond. The 240mm shank fits into an HDPE (High-density polyethylene) pipe snuggly and is slightly coned to ease the fit and provide additional stability. Water is prevented from travelling back up thanks to the two rings that emulate a drain tap, and the serrated area allows for a drain guard to join the system.

Compatible with SBS (Styrene Butadiene Styrene) and APP (Atactic Polypropylene Membrane) membranes, such as built-up (felt), hot melt, mastic asphalt, and other liquid-applied membranes.

Please note:

  • Do not allow direct contact with concrete as this can allow water to find its way beneath the outlet and cause damage.
  • Assure that a layer of membrane is fully bonded to the outlet flange and the first layer for completely watertight bonds.

Is this suitable for fibreglass roof?

Answer:

As this is perforated it will be suitable for GRP - as the fibres would weave in and out of the perforation holes.
