From PestFix, this Oa2ki Organic Diatomaceous Earth Insect Powder allows you to control the ingress of various insects, including fleas, ants, cockroaches, bed bugs, mites, stored product insects, booklice and silverfish. Produced from fossilised diatoms, it eliminates moisture by desiccation of the insects' cuticle and results in death.
In diatomaceous earth, you can find fossilised remains of diatoms, which are hard-shelled algae. They are often utilised in mechanical insecticides when pesticides are not appropriate, typically when there are animals nearby.
Favoured by poultry keepers for monitoring red mite, Oa2ki is suited to direct mattress applications, as well as bedding and soft furnishings to eliminate bed bugs. It can also be applied where insects live or often frequent, to dry and secure areas, cracks and crevices, and in bird cages as a bird bath. When veterinary advice has been sought, you may apply it to dogs and cats or their bedding for the control of fleas. To do so, use 1-2 grams, depending on the animal's size.
