This patination oil from Calder has been specially developed for the industry on behalf of the Lead Sheet Association. It minimises unsightly staining and provides an attractive appearance for newly applied lead flashings and sheets. One litre covers approximately 60m².
Sometimes the patina formed on lead looks unsightly and patchy, and the staining of brickwork and tiles can ruin the overall aesthetic of a building. In damp or rainy conditions, new lead quickly develops an uneven, powdery white, non-adherent layer of lead carbonate due to corrosion, which is visually undesirable. This patination oil will diminish this uncontrolled formation of carbonate, enhance the hygiene of the job and reveal a lovely finish to the lead both before and after its final patination formation.
