Suitable for adhering to various porous and non-porous surfaces without the need for priming, EVERFLEX SILICONE 700 is a neutral, low modulus, and cost-effective oxime cure RTV silicone sealant. SILICONE 700T is designed to withstand mould and bacterial infestation, and its high viscosity grade provides outstanding tooling abilities.

This products offers excellent adhesion to most common surfaces including glass, metals, plastics and wood. It has a low dirt pick up which is ideal for PVCu work, alongside external weathering properties. It is also certified under the harmonised European standard EN15651 for façade, cold climate and sanitary applications in compliance with the Construction Product Regulation.

This versatile product can be used for perimeter pointing around PVCu, wood, and other window frames both internally and externally. Additionally, it can be used for sealing and as an adhesive onto PVCu, plastic trims, and components. It can also act as an expansion joint sealant, offers weather sealing and joint sealing to pre-formed panels, and is compatible for sealing soft metals such as lead, copper, and zinc. For those looking to minimise draughts, this product provides an effective solution, including repair work on existing sealant. Finally, it's suitable for use in parapet and roof weather sealing applications.

Surface Preparation

• Before application, it's crucial to ensure that surfaces are clean, dry, and lacking dust, grease, or other contaminants. Given the qualities of plastics can vary, it is important to commence adhesion tests before large scale use. To enhance adhesion, you can use EVERFLEX PVC SOLVENT CLEANER (PVC) or white spirits (painted surfaces) to clean the surface. Priming is usually unnecessary, but it is suggested to test a small area before use. If you opt to prime, use Everbuild Silicone Primer P1 for porous substrates and NP2 for non-porous substrates.

Application

• Trim the end of the cartridge and take care not to harm the thread. Insert the nozzle and slice at a 45° angle with an opening slightly bigger than the gap to be sealed. Use a sealant gun to apply the sealant, and for optimal results, maintain steady trigger pressure and keep the gun at a consistent angle relative to the surface being sealed. For a full bond, a spatula or wooden piece can be used to smooth the sealant. For a better joint appearance, put masking tape on both sides of the joint, and extract it within five minutes of application.

Joint Design

• The minimum width for joints is 5mm. Movement capacity can be affected if the depth of the joint is greater than the width. To optimise movement accommodation, it is advised that joint depth should be at least 5mm. For joints that are up to 10mm wide, their depth should be 5mm. Joints above 10mm in width should be half the width in depth up to 20mm and minimum 10mm for wider joints. In the case of deep joints, use EVERFLEX FIX AND FILL FOAM or an appropriate joint backer rod to decrease the depth. It is essential to ensure that the seal is not located in a position that retains water or forms a water trap. Triangular fillets faces should be no less than 12mm across and are best finished with a flat or convex face.

• This product should be stored in original unopened containers between 15°C and 30°C and has a shelf life of 18 months from the date of manufacture.
• Do not use in conjunction with bitumen asphalt, neoprene and certain organic elastomers.
• Do not use in the manufacture of Aquariums, instead use AQUA MATE.
• Do not use on substrates that bleed oil, solvents or plasticisers.
• Not over-paintable, instead use WEATHER MATE.
• Not suitable for bedding I. G Units, instead use Silicone 450.
