Description
A brand new weathering slate for the 21st century made from a special soft zinc alloy. Offering all the benefits of lead and aluminium but without the disadvantages. Manufactured in the UK by roof fabrications, FabSlate's special zinc alloy combines excellent strength, durability and overall performance with the flexibility and malleability to suit almost any situation. It offers a cost-effective, lightweight and recyclable solution to roof-penetration weathering.
Application
FabSlate can be used with all roofing elements including slates, felt, shingles, tiles excluding deep profiled tiles and other materials on pitched roofs. It can be used for pipes from 25mm up to 125mm diameter including soil and vent pipes and ventilation outlets.
Installation
FabSlate is used just like conventional weathering slates and is fully compatible with lead flashings and other roofing materials. Simply trim the integral rubber flange to suit the pipe diameter. No caulking is required. On pitched roofs, FabSlate is suitable for a minimum slop of 15° and a maximum of 45°.
