This ACO MonoDrain foul air trap is a necessity if a channel drainage system is to be connected to mains sewers. It features a small water reservoir that holds foul smelling air so that it won’t travel up the pipework and out of the channel grates.

ACO MonoDrain is a one-piece Vienite channel drain system that incorporates grates into the channels for one secure, safe and efficient surface water drainage system. By combining the grate and base in one unit you reduce the risk of gratings dislodging beneath the weight of traffic and you reduce the risk of grates being stolen. Quicker to install (than separate grate and base drains), ACO MonoDrain promotes integrity and long-term performance in D400 load class areas.
Both the base and grates of ACO MonoDrain is manufactured from ACO’s very own recycled polymer concrete Vienite. The durable concrete offers stability and a sturdy, rigid grate capable of taking traffic and stationery weight in areas such as car and HGV parks, light duty landscaping and pedestrian areas, town centers and commercial developments. The MonoDrain base has external faces to bed into the concrete below more firmly and the MonoDrain grates are 8mm Heelguard to minimise debris entry and danger to pedestrians.
By using ACO MonoDrain you simplify the specification process, simplify installation and spend less time on site. 500mm channel units come in 4 constant depths of 185mm to 305mm and 1 shallow constant depth of 135mm. Options include black, grey and natural colours to match and complement a project and a range of accessories including lockable rodding access points, sumps, gully units and foul air traps allow you to get more from this system.
Certified to BS EN 1433:2002 Class D400, ACO MonoDrain is not suitable for public roads, highways and motorways. For this we recommend ACO RoadDrain.

Is it possible to insert the ACO MonoDrain 110mm foul air trap into an existing 110mm pipe from a gully outlet?
Answer:
The ACO foul air traps are only designed to be installed in conjunction with the relevant sump unit. You would be better advised trying a trap specifically designed for use with standard 110mm diameter PVC-U underground pipe fittings.
